I am just wondering because most of the players are from dublin.

Yea definately. Sure the only reason any of the ndsl u15 kennedy cup winning squad players are in the ireland squad is because ndsl kicked up a fuss when none of their players with the exception of 1 was selected for the ireland squad. The ndsl board went kicking & screaming & even threatened to pull out of fai all together if more ndsl players were not selected. therefore aqny selected since then is simply due to politics & not their ability. The whole set up is a shambles.

Very few players go right through the international set up from schoolboys to the senior squad.yes politics are involved but the politics favours the players outside dublin generally.ndsl kicked up last year that is true.but i dont think people should get too hung up about schoolboy international set up.surely you want to be in these squads at 18-20 yrs where you are nearer to knocking on the door.i cant help feeling sometimes that some parents and kids would be more happy for the opportunity now - and to fail, and come home and be the big i am, rather than be patient at home with their club, emerging talent, etc and the prospect of signing for a domestic league club which may be a better way of getting a pro contract.Patience, hard work, dedication is key.Generally we dont produce 'outstanding' players in Ireland lets be honest. But we do produce very good competitive players who can go on to make a name for themselves.

The question to ask is, Is the Irish U15 team really that important?
