I would just like to say , over the last few weeks , i have witnessed some great football from the under age sides and it is a credit to our coaches and clubs! It can only bode well for the future of Irish soccer ,by under age i mean from u12 down to u8 , i always say its not about trophies, medals or points at this age but more so about performances and ability and allowing the sides to make mistakes and play without fear, crumlin united u12s are an excelent side , best i have seen in a long time and a lot of those players will go across the water , at u11 , i think st kevins are leading the way as they have a sides on both days, at u 10 kevins are also strong on both days, at u 9 and u8 (these sides are obviously still really young) , but there are so many sides playing exceptional football for children so young and some really talented children, who cares about winners and losers at this age , its all about development and it seems this development mentality is finally setting in with clubs and coaches, .

Tunnel vision pal.Top 5 in 12 prem all very close.Kevins Joeys and francis play better football than crumlin.I wont even respond to younger age groups you mention because its ridiculous to discuss it at that even younger age.

arch , i agree with your comment in principal , However i think the world is becoming too PC! there is a big stigma when anyone starts mentioning " young sides" and playing well, all we are doing is saying well done to the young sides , again as we say , it matters not who wins games at u11,10,9 or 8 , but it doesnt mean we cannot say well done to the coaches ,players ,clubs doing the right things! i disagree regards crumlin u12 , i think they are really top calibre, some really good players , and i think they will dominate their league and the sfai trophies for the next 3 or 4 years! and i think its ok to congratulate our younger sides if they are good , winning is not important but the young sides should be commended , otherwise whats the point ?? whats the point in playing, coaching ,etc . the point is to develop good technical players with good attitudes and philosphies , surely its ok to promote that arch??

Very interesting subject , i watched an u10 game yesterday with my son who is a year older and plays in the NDSL , the game was between Home Farm & St Kevins and i have to say ,the two sides played some very good football it was of a very high standard and i think you are right to promote positive things going on in schoolboy football ,my hat goes of to both Managers and coaches they just got on with the game and let the players play no shouting or screaming kevin's won 3 nil but from the reaction of both managers you would not know who was winning , they were more concerned with how the kids played the game , so please promote our young kids as much as possible after all they are the future, Can't comment on Crumlin u12s i have not seen them but if what i witnessed yesterday was anything to go by i'm sure they are top drawer . I just wish my son's League was as good

I dont see anything wrong with saying that some Under 8,9 & 10s play good footbal. It is great to see an under 8 team be so comfortable on the ball and fully enjoying the game.At our club we get more supporters up for that team than any other. The league is non competitive so winning doesnt come into it. Credit needs to go to these kids for enjoying the game so much as a lot of people seem to forget that it should be played with a smile.
