Shelbourne U14's, managed by Gerry Gosson and Brian Farrell have been grouped against the Russian National team, Hosts Pordenone and Italian outfit Brugnera in the International Memorial F. Gallini Cup, a world youth tournament that is held in Pordenone, North Italy over Easter and is organised specifically for players at 14 years of age through special invitation only.

This is the biggest event of its kind with teams from every continent participating, with teams such as Juventus, Fiorentina & Inter Milan from Italy, Spark Moscow from Russia, Lagos from Nigeria, AEK Athens from Greece, Nigmegen from Holland and Rapid Bucharest from Romania to name put a few. There are a number of international teams involved along with the Russians, including last years winners - The Japanese National team, as well as Romania, The USA, Lithuania, and Kazakhstan.

This particular Shelbourne team have a huge year ahead of them. After been beaten narrowly in last years All Ireland Final, Gosson made some major signings to put this team in a position to contend for honours on all fronts. They are currently challenging for the DDSL U14 premier league and are in the quarter finals of the Thunder Cup.

As well as playing in the International Memorial F. Gallini Cup in April the team is involved in this years prestigious Milk Cup in August, competing against top Premiership clubs and international teams.

Within the squad two players, captain Stephen Chambers and DDSL top scorer Marawan Azimi, are involved with the U15 International team while no fewer than 7 players are involved with the FAI's emerging talent squad.

Finally we would like to wish the team the best of luck in the future and hope they do their Club, league and country proud in Italy.
