Baldwin Leaves Big Boots To Fill

03 July 2008

Tom Baldwin St Paul's Artane U16's captain leaves to join Stockport County to pursue his lifetime ambition of becoming a professional footballer. Tom is joining the newly promoted club who is currently managed by ex eircom league start Jim Gannon. The club St Paul's was invited to a weeks long coaching session in Stockport last year. We accepted the invite and the players where outstanding in terms of their attitude, ability and behaviour. Stockport officials where most impressed by the St Paul's approach and identified some key players that they would keep an eye on. One player who shone brightest was team captain Tom Baldwin.

" It's easy to see why a club like Stockport would be impressed by such a player, who demonstrates a model attitude states team manager's John O'Leary & John Cummins. Tom is a manager's dream type of player, first up training, last to leave, he wants to listen and learn as much as possible." Another ex league of Ireland great Kevin "GAFF" Brady has coached Tom since the age of seven. Young Baldwin is a great young prospect with great attitude and taking the step to enter professional fulltime football will only help improve him. Another positive is that Jim Gannon is one of the most progressive young coaches in the English game and will take an active role in the development of his fellow Dubliner.

All of Tom's team mates in St Paul's wish their captain well in his career and thank him and his family for their services to the club. Maybe even a few match tickets when he makes the big time!!!
New Season training for U17+U18 will commence on 15th July,New Players welcome.
