Finn Harps v Bohemians

22 June 2008

Bohemians will prove to be a tough task for Paul Hegarty's side. They have won each of their last seven games including five in the league. Fresh from their weekend demolotion of Rhyl in the Intertoto Cup, Pat Fenlon's side continue to lead the way at the top of the table.

The task at hand will prove all the more difficult for Harps as they continue to be hampered by injuries. Central defender Marc Mukendi joins long term absentees Jonathan Minnock, Gary Beckett, Cornelius Gallagher, Aaron Labonte and Kevin Ramsey on the injury list. Striker Stephen Parkhouse also sits out the visit of the Gypsies through suspension.

"We have been extremely unlucky as regards injuries and I honestly don't think that some of the bigger clubs would have been able to survive had they been in the same boat," commented Hegarty on the injury crisis at the club.. "There's nothing we can do now though. We can moan and we can bleat away, but we just have to get up and get on with it. From one week to the next we were just patching up here and there."

Hegarty has asked the club's supporters to continue to back his side as they bid to keep their place in the top flight. "It has been very frustrating and I can understand the supporter's feelings because believe me there is no-one more than me more frustrated at the minute. That is the hand that we have been dealt and we have to cope with it. A doom and gloom attitude doesn't help," he said. "We have a lot of big matches coming up. At the start of the season, people probably expected more, but I hope that people understand that things haven't gone for us. I can understand the frustration and anger of the supporters, but at the end of the day we have to hope for a big crowd to get behind the team and I have said it 101 times the supporters are vital."

After Bohemians on Tuesday night, Bray Wanderers will make the trip to Finn Park on Friday night. It's a big week of games at Finn Park and Harps supporters around the north-west and beyond will hope that the mid-season break proves to be a turning point in the season for their team
