Aisling Looney, who is a Women's FIFA Assistant, has been appointed to the
UEFA Women's Under 19 Finals in France from July 7 to 14. The participating teams are England, Germany, Italy, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Spain and France.
This is another boost for Women's refereeing in Ireland as it follows quickly on the appointment of Rhona Daly as a referee for the first ever UEFA Women's Under 17 Finals which took place in Switzerland in May. Rhona refereed a semi-final between Germany and Denmark and was then appointed as referee for the final between France and Germany.
Rhona has now been invited to referee the Women's Senior Friendly between Norway and Sweden on July 20 where she will be assisted by Paula Brady and Celine McGowan.
Anthony Buttimer has been appointed as referee for the UEFA Intertoto Cup First Round match between Elfsborg of Sweden and Torshaven of Faroe Islands on Saturday, June 28, and he will be assisted by Ken Hennessy and Allen Lynch.
Alan Kelly has been appointed to a Third Round Intertoto match on July 26 and will be assisted by Martin Moloney and Dave Wogan.
Marc Douglas, a FIFA Assistant, has been appointed as Fourth Official for this Saturday's Intertoto First Round First Leg tie between Bohemians and Welsh side Rhyl.
FIFA Women's Referee Hilda McDermott has been appointed as Fourth Official for the UEFA Women's Senior Qualifier between Republic of Ireland and Sweden on June 25 at Bray's Carlisle Grounds.
