The right back was named in Mick McCarthy's squad to face Cyprus in the penultimate qualifying game on October 6.
"It's an exciting time with Ireland. We have a great chance to qualify and obviously that would be a dream come true for all of us. But nothing is decided yet and we have to keep our feet on the floor.
"After beating Holland we don't have to fear anyone, but it's important we concentrate on one game at a time."
