Longford Town manager, Stephen Kenny, insists his side are on course to repeat last year's success. Town, in their maiden premier division season, surprised everyone, including themselves, by challenging Dublin's big clubs for every honour.
However, Kenny's heroes have failed to carry the momentum from last year into this campaign, accumulating just nine points from their opening nine games. Despite their current position, the Dubliner remains confident that the Midlanders will have a good season.
"If you are to compare our position this year with that of last year, than we are on course," insists Kenny. "We have had a lot of injures and that has taken it's toll.
"Our 1-1 draw with Bohemians in Dalymount last week should be the turning point."
