FAI INTERMEDIATE CUP DRAW

FAI INTERMEDIATE CUP DRAW FAI Intermediate Cup favourites, Cherry Orchard, have been drawn to play Ballyfermot United or Birr Town in the Third Round of the Intermediate Cup, while LSL giants Ashtownvilla and Bluebell will clash at Moortown.

The draw for the third round always generates huge interest in amateur circles, with the winners of each of the cup games going into the FAI Senior Cup, and opening up the possibility of a dream clash against a big eircom league club.

In the past, non-league sides have done themselves proud. Most famously, in 1991, Pete Mahon led St Francis to the final, while Cherry Orchard, Wayside and Bluebell have all caused shocks.
