ARDMORE'S SUCCESS

Ardmore are continuing on from the success they enjoyed in the Wicklow league onto the DDSL U-14A division, where they are enjoying an unbelievable start to the campaign.

The club have won all of their games in the league, and have astonishingly yet to concede a goal in their first six matches.

The side decided to enter the DDSL this season after collecting the triple in the Wicklow league last season and simply proving too strong for the opposition in the county.

However, the Wicklow football association rejected their proposed move, but the SFAI felt the club was unreasonably treated and allowed them to join the Dublin league.

Last year, the club reached the semi-final of the National Cup, where Cherry Orchard narrowly beat them and eight of the side represented the county in the Kennedy Cup.

The side is managed by Simon Kelly and Graham Cotter and have exceptional players in the form of Robbie Manley, Paul Gunning and Darren Randolf to name but a few.

Secretary, Bill Brandon, believes the club's aim is to reach the very top and stay there. "Our aim is to compete at the highest level. Michael McCann represented the Irish U-14 side last season and he moved on after that. We want to be in a position where we can hold on to our very best players in the years to come."
