Northway Rangers, an under 11 Brenfer team from Finglas,in Dublin, did not return empty handed from the Ian Rush Tournament in Wales, as they won the Fair-Play award.Having just narrowly failed to make the semi-final, drawing their last game with the host club when they needed a win, Northway received a boost with news from the organisers that they had won the Fair Play award.
In a section of 16 teams that contained the likes of Tranmere Rovers, Northway finished in 5th place after a play off.
Parents and officials at the club were delighted with the boys performances both on and off the pitch with a spokeman saying:
"The boys were a credit to themselves, their families, and to their country. This has been a fantastic success for our club in every way and I have no doubt it will stay in the memory of all the lads for a long time to come."
