MORE BRENFER FINALS

b>UNDER 13 CUP FINAL BELVEDERE 1 SHERIFF YC 2

Sheriff YC came from a goal down to capture the Under-13 Cup Final at the Dublin International Tournament in Gormanstown on Friday.

Both sides had impressed throughout the competition and it was always going to be a close fought encounter between these two close rivals.

Belvedere began the brighter and deserved to be in the lead when Ian McClouskey hit the target. Sheriff equalised within 10 minutes thanks to a Paul Murphy goal.

At one a piece it could have gone either way, but in the end a Patrick Corcoran goal was enough to decide this clash.

UNDER 15 CUP FINAL

WFTA 4 Bohemians 1

WFTA produced a brilliant display to see off an impressive Bohemians side to claim the Under-15 Cup at the Dublin International Tournament in Gormanstown on Friday.

Goals from Liam Tiernan, Stuart Daly and a double from Darren O¿Brien proved to much for the Gypsies.

It was a game that few would dare call, as both teams had breezed through their respective groups, but in the end the Finglas side strode to victory.

James Moore did register on the score sheet for Bohs, but at 4-0 it was a case of too little too late.

The Dublin International Tournament reached it¿s climax on Friday, as the giants and minnows of schoolboy soccer battled it out on the fields of Gormanstown College.

The Brenfer North Dublin League run competition, which is in it¿s second year, is the largest schoolboy tournament in the Republic of Ireland.

Over the three four day¿s 64 clubs and 1000 kids took part in the tournament which has been hailed by participants as a massive success.

It is only the second year of the competition and officials expect it to be even bigger and more successful next season.

¿It has been a fantastic few days and I have to say that I really enjoyed it,¿ said Liam Farrell, Secretary of the Brenfer North Dublin League. ¿To run a tournament of this side takes a huge amount of effort, from not only officials in the NDSL, but the parents and the kids themselves. ¿It is brilliant to see so many people enjoying themselves and it is a great experience for the kids. Next year, we expect it to be even bigger,¿ he added.
