ROVERS NEED CASH INJECTION

The completion of Shamrock Rovers Umbro Stadium may be in doubt after it was revealed that they need a £800,000 cash injection.

Rovers new ground was originally meant to open prior to the start of the new season, however, builders strikes and financial difficulties has put the future of the project in doubt.

The Hoops have already been promised £500,000 towards the stadium by the government, but as Secretary Joe Colwell revealed it may not be enough.

"We cannot say when the stadium is going to be finished," said Colwell. "We have received set backs from the outset, but its no secret that we are short of funds. We have been promised money from the government, but we have not seen it yet.

"It's frustrating, because we have no home and we are just wasting money by paying to play in other stadiums."
