PORTMARNOCK'S NEW ERA

The future is certainly bright for the junior and schoolboy fortunes of Portmarnock FC, following the exciting new facilities and signings at the club.

The club are delighted to announce that the new clubhouse is completed along with the superb All-Weather pitches, which will cater for the club's 28 teams at Paddy's hill.

"The new facilities are a superb boost," said club secretary, Gareth Dunne. "It gives us a great bit of independence and we are really looking forward to many years of success there."

Meanwhile, the club have also acquired the signings of junior internationals Chris Madden from Edenmore and Chris O'Connor from St Pauls. It now takes the number of current or ex-internationals at the club to 14.

"They are two great signings, and hopefully they will be the final piece of the jigsaw that inspires us to some success this season."
