McIlROY HAILS HEALY

Northern Ireland manager, Sammy McILroy has tipped Preston striker, David Healy, to smash the Northern Ireland goalscoring record.

Healy has already scored seven goals in just 14 appearances for Northern Ireland since he burst on to the international scene 20 months ago.

And McIlroy is convinced that the former Manchester United starlet will keep on scoring goals.

"I saw him against Norwich the other week and even though he didn't get on the scoresheet, I thought his all-round play was excellent and he was involved in three of the four goals," said McIlroy.

"What has really impressed me about Healy is his all-round play. He's not just about scoring goals now and he's involved in the link-up play and setting up goals as well.

"Now don't get me wrong, as a manager I love to see him score goals, but I also like to see his work rate and involvement around the box and he's doing both 100%. I'm a great admirer of Healy and I think the boy will get even better. I don't think, barring injury, that there's a bigger certainty that he will break Northern Ireland's goalscoring record."
