Drogheda United Community Activities

Drogheda United's extensive Community Promotions programme continued last weekend when Club Promotions Officer Terry Collins visited the Drogheda Scouts with the club's Shoot Soccer Challenge.

The Challenge game has been visiting schools, groups and clubs all over the region and has proved a huge success with kids and adults alike. The game is played over a few hours and the winners receive Drogheda United prizes; mugs, badges, stickers and medals.

On Saturday the club visited the Scouts' Fun Day while last week, Drogheda United were invited to the Slane Festival in the grounds of Slane Castle by Slane Wanderers Football Club. The club have forged great ties with clubs throughout the North-East, thanks in part to our half-time entertainment in which clubs and schools are invited to take part in friendly matches at half-time during Drogheda United's league games in United Park.

Club Promotions Officer Terry Collins explains "Our aim is to promote this club to the whole community, while at the same time giving something back to the kids. They all really enjoy the games and it's great to see so many local kids showing an interest in Drogheda United."
