European football
The European deadline is midnight 31 January while players must be registered by midnight CET on 1 February to be eligible for European football. The 16 teams remaining in the UEFA Champions League may register a maximum of three new players for use in the tournament, provided they are eligible. One of those players can have represented another side in Europe as long as they took part in a different competition.
Squad lists
At any point in the tournament, a team's A squad list may contain 25 players, while a B list is used to register players who were born on, or after, 1 January 1986 and who have been eligible to play for the club for at least two years since their 15th birthday. If the registration of new players causes the maximum squad limit to be exceeded, the necessary number of other registered players must be removed. The same deadline and restrictions apply to the 32 sides in the UEFA Cup.
