Pires eyes Gunners stay

Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires insists he won't be leaving Highbury during the transfer window and wants to remain at the club beyond the end of the season.

The 32-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is free to talk to other clubs in January about a free transfer but is in no rush to leave the Gunners.

"I am here for the entire season, no question about that," he told The Sun. "I will be talking to the club again about my future in January but the only thing I am thinking about is the prospect of winning something with Arsenal this season.

"I will not be leaving before the end of the season and very much want to stay beyond that.

"All that still has to be decided but one thing which is certain is that I am going nowhere during the January transfer window."
