Henry's refusal to discuss a new deal at Arsenal until next year has seen him heavily linked with a move away from the North London giants.
Barcelona have revealed their interest in the French star and van Bronckhorst believes his arrival would be a massive boost to an already star studded squad.
"Thierry is a phenomenal player. I know just how good because I used to train with him every day," van Bronckhorst told The Sun.
"Thierry is very special and I think he can compete with the strikers we have.
"We have a great squad and if Thierry comes here he will make it even stronger.
"There will be more competition and we can rotate players more. When we have Thierry with us we will be able to rest players and be fitter for games.
"He is definitely a player we could use but it's up to him to decide whether he wants to go or if he wants to stay."
