RIO DOUBTFUL FOR DUTCH CLASH

Leeds defender, Rio Ferdinand, is set to miss England's friendly international with Holland on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury.

The former West Ham centre-half picked up the injury in Leeds pre-season campaign and is also in danger of missing his club's Premiership opener at home to Southampton on Saturday week.

Ferdinand's hopes of figuring in the match with the Dutch depend on whether he plays in Leeds' pre-season clash with Sparta in Rotterdam tomorrow, having been included in The Whites' squad to travel over to Holland.

But Elland Road boss O'Leary admitted: "As things stand, Rio must be rated as a big doubt for the England game next week. In fact, if he's not up to taking part in our game with Sparta, you can forget him for our opening game with Southampton, too."
