Muzurovi sacked by Bosnia-Herzegovina

18 December 2007

Bosnia-Herzegovina coach Fuad Muzurovi has been dismissed after a year in charge of the national team.

Losing streak
The Football Federation of Bosnia & Herzegovina decided to part company with Muzurovi, 62, following a run of five defeats in as many matches at the end of UEFA EURO 2008™ qualification.
Second spell
The coach, who had started his second spell at the Bosnia-Herzegovina helm last December and initially oversaw wins against Norway, Turkey and Malta, could then do nothing to prevent the slump. His side finished fourth in qualifying Group C. Muzurovi had previously occupied the hot seat between 1992 and 1997.
Sacking season
Bosnia-Herzegovina's recent struggles have not solely concerned the senior team. Poor results at Under-21, U17 and futsal levels also prompted the federation to sack respective coaches Nikola Niki, Ivo Kneevi and Marin orluka, as well as causing the resignation of the director of all national selections, Ahmet Pašali.
